Mayukh Mahalanabish & Mainak Mahalanabish, commonly known as Mayukh-Mainak, born at Alipurduar. Father Mr. Malay Mahalanabish and mother Mrs. Shukla Mahalanabish, both were school teachers. They have done their schoolling at Alipurduar. But from very childhood most of the time they used to be with Music only.
After schoolling they shifted to Kolkata. From the memory of their land, they entered in full time music by launching their first album "Sobuj Boney Holud Pakhi" from the record label Probaho. The title song is still a chart buster, specially in North Bengal.
After that they launched album from the record labels llike Times music,Saregamapa.
Album "Ojantric" from saregamapa,brings them a class of their own where first time ever in bengali song’s history they introduced "accapella" music,which means creating music bed of a full song with only multilared voices & without any conventional instrument. They have also experimented with junk music. That means making the rythm structure of a song with junks only like utensils,packing boxes,keys, coins etc. Their rendition of Rudra Mhmd Shahidulla's Amar Bhitoro Bahire became chart buster.
They had the honour to compose the theme song for Diego Maradona for his visit to Kolkata & got the opportunity to perform live & share the stage with Maradona.
During this period they formed a group named Mokam which performed successfully in many platforms.
After that,they have switched their journey from Mokam to music director duo with the tv soap Behula & since then working in so many daily soaps like Adwitiya,Tumi Ashbey boley.,Dwiragamon,Kotha Dilam,
They have scored for films like Agaro,Aami aadu,Hing ting chhawt, Jio kaka & Bodhan among whitch two films are nationally & internationally awarded.
